Hatha Yoga
|
|
Hatha Yoga
is the most basic form of yoga from which many
other yoga styles have developed. Yoga means “union” or yoke,”
therefore yoga develops the connection between the body and
mind. The benefits of Hatha yoga include increased flexibility
and balance, while strengthening and toning the entire body.
Yoga also helps reduce stress, encourage relaxation and increase
vitality. Mixed Level classes are
appropriate for students of all levels but some experience with
yoga is encouraged. Students with no experience in yoga should
start with the Beginner/Level 1 class before safely
moving into the Mixed Level
classes. The Level 2/3 class includes pranayama,
meditation and explores more advanced asanas such as inversions,
arm balances, and revolved asanas. |
Vinyasa Yoga
|
|
Vinyasa Yoga is one of the most popular styles of yoga in
our culture. The focus is that of connecting the breath
with the postures. This class will begin with a short warm
up to help the practitioner connect with the breath and then
move gracefully through several Sun Salutations. The sky
is the limit from there as each instructor will add creative
elements to excite and challenge the body and mind. Some
experience is recommended.
